Touch a truck

Wyatt, myself, Kelly, Jake, Grandpa and of course Sarah, went to touch-a-truck today. I think all other stay at home moms within a 20 mile radius had the same idea!!! It is a great way to entertain the kids. The lines were long so we stood at about 4 of them and then left.

Wyatt and Jake had a great time and then we went to McDonalds to have lunch and play.

Of course we had to get a picture with Grandpa and the mail truck!!! Wyatt and Jake did not really cooperate with this one!

Brickyard 400

Oh wow, what a day. A day in the sun will whoop you but it was so much fun and WELL worth it. I think I have said this before but I now realize when you have kids your excitement is so much different, you are now looking through the eyes of a child. So many 1st's!! There were so many times my dad and I would look at each other and crack up!!!

Our day started out with meeting at the Budweiser account reps house in Geist. We then caravaned to a gas station close to the fairgrounds and that is where we hooked up with the police escort. The Budweiser rep, Chris, then told us the the cop likes to go about 70 mph down the city streets so make sure that we keep up. There were 4 cars including myself and another white suburban bringing up the rear. I must say I was white knuckling the wheel, I did not want to take the escort out (HAHAHA)(he was on motorcycle). Originally, Chris told us we would have to park on our own once we got there but the police had an extra pass so our day just kept getting easier. We never had to deal with traffic. What a treat to whiz by everybody who had been sitting in traffic and would continue to for hours.

Anyway (can you tell the ride there was one of the best parts), we go there and went to the Bud tent where they had food galore, drinks and of course beer. We had some lunch and people watched (also a great part of the day).

We then started to head to our seats and my god was it hot. Wyatt was dragging his knuckles by this time but only to be revved up again when the starting ceremony started.

We saw the F-35 bombers fly overhead, the cars starting their engines, and the national anthem which always gives me the chills. The race finally starts only to have a wreck after lap 4.... and we are under a caution.

So here are a couple of quotes Wyatt chanted, I mean yelled at the track:

" Go lightening McQueen"

" Tony Stewart", with his horns out on his hands (you will see in the pics!!!)

Here is a conversation:

Me: "Wyatt, what was your favorite part of the Brickyard?"

Wyatt: "Ummm, my hat." All that activity and the Brickyard hat Grandpa Kenny bought was the highlight.

Oh, and the whole way home he said 400 at the brickyard, 400 at the brickyard!!!!!

What a great day. Thanks again to Chris and Joni, Chris Zin, and of course thanks to Grandpa for going. This is what memories are made of : )

Freezy's

Wyatt must ask 100 times a day for freezy's. They are his new obsession. If you aren't familiar with the term it is the frozen ice in the plastic wrap. Anyhow, I am not exagerrating when I say 100 times (if you have a three year old or anywhere close you know what I am talking about). Well, I managed to keep him in the single digits today. Anyhow, I must say I had a couple too! All in all we had a good day and we are resting up for the Brickyard 400 tomorrow. We have a police escort into the Budweiser tent so we don't have to fight the traffic.

Thanks Chris and Joni!!!

Update!! Update!!!

Hello all, it has been quite awhile since I have updated. Our summer has been great and relaxing. Lots of days having lunch at the poolside, ohh... the lazy days of summer. I love it!! I don't want it to end.

Nick did come back and then headed to Kentucky. Wyatt and I went joined him for awhile. Wyatt has nicknamed Louisville, KY., Tuckeyville. We all jumped on the band wagon, pretty cute.

We have been potty training Wyatt and his treat is a fish tank with "Nemo" when he finally is doing all the "deeds". After today I think he finally is onto peeing for sure. We have had many dry days as well as mornings.

Pooh though, that is a whole other story. I was not home when the following story happened, (probably a good thing), but Nick took Wyatt's pull up off and told him if he had to poop to run to the bathroom. Well, Nick left the room for a minute and Wyatt came after him chanting, " I did it Daddy, I did it " with a terd in his hand. Nick and Wyatt proceeded to take the terd and flush it. I told Nick he was lucky it was a terd. I am sure I would not have been so lucky!!!

Wyatt has a mohawk again. That's right...Nick took him for a haircut. It does look good but Nick is better with the gel than I am and Wyatt likes to look like a "rooster".

As for me, I am starting back with the Diamond broker I used to work for. His wife is having their 3rd child and wants some help with the office work. It is really a great opportunity since they have a nanny and told me to bring Wyatt with me. It will start out 20 hours a week and we have talked about going on until Christmas. Well that is all for now. I will leave you with some pics of the last little while.

P.S.

Grandpa Kenny, Wyatt and myself are going the the Brickyard 400 this weekend. I am so excited, it is suppossed to be very nice out!! I will update with picutres after!!!
