Santa Claus

Santa Claus made an appearance at the Christmas Party we were at on Saturday. I told Wyatt that Santa new he liked cars and that if he was a good boy he might get a car. Turns out that his gift was cars and he looked at me and said, " Did you tell Santa?" I love it when things happen that way. Santa does not even know that he made Wyatt a true believer that day!!!! Santa wanted Travis to come up and sit on his lap. Travis was 10 shades of red!!!

Christmas times a coming!!!

It is about time I put something new to update the blog world. Wyatt is in hockey now. Before he was just in skating lessons, but has graduated to real hockey. He is a lot more interested in skating with a stick and a puck.

Wyatt and I are getting ready for Christmas. Nick was home for about a month and put up a tree and helped decorate. We were very grateful for that. Wyatt has helped me a lot this year with decorations and cookie making. We are going to be doing some fun things in the next couple of weeks including Disney on Ice and a couple Christmas parties.

We did some name tags for our presents. A good "artsy fartsy" thing to do on a cold day. We had temperatures in the teens for about a week. BBBRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!! Oh, by the way, I gave Wyatt a pair of scissors and as you can see he went to town for about an hour!

Then we decided to do sugar cookie cut-outs. I have a whole new appreciation for people who do these. We did one cookie sheet and decided balls of dough would be fine as well. They taste the same, right???

Sugar cookies are not as good without frosting so we did that as well. Wyatt did a great job beating the frosting. He found the power boost on the beaters first. Butter is hard to clean up!!! They turned out as good as they could have and we had fun!!

I hope everyone is enjoying the holiday season.

Merry Christmas to all!!!!!

Buzz Light year Debut

Here are pictures of the Halloween party we went to today. The kids all looked adorable....they played games and also had a magician entertain.

Wyatt got pulled on stage to do a trick, okay, I think he just went and sat on the chair. It worked. Watch this!!!

Spiderman

Wyatt got a hold on my camera last week and I didn't think anything of it until I was going through my pictures and there was 3 of the ceiling, 3 of the couch pillows and 1 picture in particular was good.

This was definitely good photography for him!!!

Kids know what they want!!!

I am quite sure everybody has heard of Chuckie Cheese. We went tonight and had a good time, especially since Wyatt really does not like that "Big Mouse". So, here is a brief story of the events of the night leading up to my point, where kids know what they want.

We got ten dollars in tokens for Madelyn and Wyatt to share. They played games for probably a couple of hours on these tokens. Usually Kristeen and I go out and play games so that we can get some tickets for the end of the night. Well, we did more talking tonight and after going to the ticket muncher realized we only had 18 tickets. That barely gets "one" piece of "crap" for each of them.

We continued up to the counter and asked the lady if they could both have ten, she said yes. The kids were having a hard time deciding and the lady asked if they wanted these big glasses. See below:

I looked up and saw that the glasses were 300 tickets a piece and we got a pair for each of the kids. We walked away and Wyatt really wanted the spider that was 10 tickets and Madelyn wanted a ring for 80 tickets. It was all junk but the point of the story was I was excited we got something for 300 tickets and Wyatt just wanted the plastic spider. I can't help it, I love a bargain and to me to get something that was 300 tickets for 10 is a bargain. 300 tickets = oh, I think $300.00 (hahahaha)

When all was said and done we got a spider, a sucker and a Spiderman change holder (also 300 tickets, it was a trade-in for the glasses). I walked away feeling not so guilty. We have given a lot of money to Chuckie Cheese!!!!

Just a tidbit ....

Wyatt has skating lessons on Tuesday nights so even though he does not take a nap everyday, I really push it on Tuesdays. Otherwise, I am tickling his feet and threatening him not to fall asleep on the way to lessons. Anyhow, he asked me to lay with him for a couple minutes in bed and I thought, "What could it hurt, sure I will." Let me tell you, not much sleeping was done but there were some cute conversations.

Wyatt: Mom, are you sleeping?

Me: Not, yet. Why are you still talking?

Wyatt: My eyes can't close. Mom, why don't you lay there with your eyes closed and I will keep my eyes open so I can hear you.

Me: Wyatt, we hear with our ears, now close your eyes.

Wyatt: Well then I will read your lips. (I am thinking, did he really just say that, it even took me a minute to catch on. Anything to keep his eyes open!)

Needless to say, he did not have a nap but did well at skating.

Tonight we are having heavy rain come through and we went to the front door to watch the storm and I looked down and didn't know what was on the step. I thought maybe some animal left a deposit on our front steps. But after looking it was a big toad so we got a picture.

Carters Toy Museum - Zionsville

I have been wanting to go to the Toy Museum in Zionsville for awhile and we went today. We saved it for a rainy day ! Kelly and the kids went with Wyatt and I. We got there and an older gentleman guided us through the 3 floors of "Antique" toys. I did learn that the owners are also the owners of Carter Van Lines. They have collected antique toys for over 50 years and just opened this museum. It was fun but I think the kids would have had more fun if they could touch and play with more. A lot of the toys were in cases for good reason, but children have a very short atttention span for that. But, everything they could climb in and ride they did. The whole basement was rides and the 3rd floor was a Carousel.

We were the only people there this morning so we got great treatment. The kids had the place to themselves.

Wyatt has a hard time with "fake people" so he was not fond of Ronald McDonald, Superman or the talking tree. Oh, and there was this clown Wyatt had his eye on( I will not admit it but I don't even like clowns, creppy creeperson!!!!). The only reason I got a picture of him near daffy duck and goofy is because Jake is in there. He did make it through the morning with much coaxing. I am certain he will grow out of this soon.

I was sure that the old school bumper cars would be a hit bt of course that darn clown had to be in the corner. Everytime we got near it he was reminded of it all over again. I had fun on the bumper cars. I don't remember them being so rough, much be age. My brain was rattled....hahahaha, no need to comment!!!

They have an "old fashioned" ice cream store that we went to for lunch and for ice cream.

Sarah was having some ice cream. I think she liked it, but her face was not so convincing the whole time!!

Pumpkin Patch

We did our annual trip to the Pumpkin Patch this weekend to get some pumpkins. We had a unseasonably warm day (same as last year) to pick our pumpkin. It just doesn't feel so fall-like when it is over 80 degress. The kids rode a "pumpkin" ride, shot cobs of corn, went on a hay ride, got a really bad airbrush tattoo (which by the way stayed on for all of about 4 hours, NOT worth the money)... Here are some pics!!

Welcome All!! I thought this was a great way to share pictures with everyone! Enjoy!!!
